DVE Announces the Huddle Room 70 Telepresence System
IRVINE, CA – June 13th, 2008 – Digital Video Enterprises (DVE),
a telepresence solution provider announces their latest telepresence
system: The DVE Huddle Room 70, a group telepresence system that
presents remote participants life-size, in high-definition, with a
hidden camera behind the image for eye level perspective.
The DVE Huddle 70 Telepresence System
The DVE Huddle Room 70 is a big screen telepresence
experience that improves the end-user experience and usage of
traditional videoconferencing systems by improving the human factors
experience of participants. The experience is immersive as if you were
sitting on the other side of the table from the remote participants --
not the traditional observant videoconferencing experience of looking
at people on a TV set.
The system features an eye-level perspective camera ingeniously hidden
behind the image for proper camera perspective and improved eye
contact for a superior human factors experience. Traditional
videoconferencing systems have cameras mounted on top of the display
screens that capture images of participants looking down. The DVE
Huddle Room’s hidden camera improves the naturalness of the meeting
experience as the brain doesn’t consciously recognize the camera and
adjusts behavior accordingly.
The DVE Huddle Room 70 utilizes a revolutionary frameless flat panel
display image. No longer do remote participants need to appear as if
they are inside the bezel frame of a TV set. “By removing the black
bezel frame around the picture we have greatly enhanced the immersive
telepresence experience, which was one of our primary design
objectives,” stated DVE’s Co-Founder Jeff Machtig.
The frameless flat panel display technology permits a whole host of
creative options for conferencing: One option is to blend the rooms’
back walls so it appears the imaged participants are in the room. So
if both rooms have the same colored back walls (no matter the color)
the DVE Huddle Room 70 blends the display portion of the back wall
with the actual physical wall.
The system is intelligently designed to work with any HD codec so
companies can use the same video codecs used in their current
conferencing infrastructure. The system can display up to 2 real-size
remote participants or 4 people scaled down from a single camera view.
A pan-tilt-zoom camera can bring in even more people per session.
The DVE Huddle Room 70 comes with a finely crafted meeting table that
serves well for telepresence sessions, as well as multipurpose rooms
when conferencing is not engaged. The Huddle Room is a practical and
affordable solution that is intended to be deployed widely throughout
corporate campuses.
The DVE Huddle Room 70 intelligently improves data conferencing by
providing 21" data tablets on the table for up close and easy to
read text. Now, even the smallest text and cells in spreadsheets can
be viewed with ease. The tablets can also optionally serve as a
conference control system and as an interactive pen touch control
screen. The DVE Huddle Room is also a full presentational environment
where vividly bright images can be used to show 3-D visualizations,
big screen data and HDTV.
The DVE Huddle Room 70 will be featured in the HD Telepresence
Showcase at the InfoComm Conference at the Las Vegas Convention Center
in the Central Hall 3, Booth C2976 June 18th-20th and Booth C3066.
